But I've never auditioned before!  Not to worry - click here to see what the Fiddler on the Roof auditions looked like, or check the Wizard of Oz auditions.  Most directors are pleased to answer any questions you may have (contact information is usually included in the audition notice) and can provide you with a script to look over before the auditions.  Check out the audition notices (links on this page) -- you'll usually find a plot synopsis and summaries of the principal roles.

Can I get involved "behind the scenes"?  Even if you're not interested in being in the spotlight, you can be part of the action.  You can help with publicity, posters, scenery, sets, costumes, makeup, props, lights, ushering . . . the list is endless. Check out our Volunteer Opportunities.

What's in it for me?  Fame, fortune, and fun . . .  well, okay, fun and maybe a little local notoriety!  Corvallis Community Theatre is a non-profit, all-volunteer operation.  Actors and crew members usually receive complementary tickets to preview nights, an opening night celebration after the performance, and often there's a cast party.  Costumes are generally provided by CCT for the duration of the show.  You may need to purchase an individual make-up kit or shoes.

I bet all the good parts are taken?  Not at all . . . CCT has a "no pre-casting" policy, that means all roles are available during the time a show is auditioning. If you have a part that you are interested in, make note of it on your audition form or speak to the director.

You can be a part of live theatre in Corvallis!

LOVE LETTERS

By A.R. Gurney
Directed by: Jack Wirz (email: love@corvalliscommunitytheatre.org )

Cast: 1 Man, 1 Woman

“In such critically acclaimed plays as The Dining Room and The Cocktail Hour, A.R. Gurney has wittily captured the manners of upper-middle class WASP America, but never as gracefully or with such dazzling economy as in Love Letters. Exhilarating, funny and moving.” — The Wall Street Journal

The Story: Tracing the lifelong correspondence of the staid, dutiful lawyer Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and the lively, unstable artist Melissa Gardner, the story of their bittersweet relationship gradually unfolds from what is written—and what is left unsaid—in their letters. A smash hit both off and on Broadway, Love Letters captures Andy and Melissa with a precision of detail and depth of feeling only Gurney can command.
